Worst Politico Nominations 2008

[Note: POLLING FOR 2008 HAS CLOSED! This post has been edited to reveal all nominees of the 2008 Awards edition...]

The worst politico, now this category should be overflowing! Where to start? There's a potential pool already at wwww.armchairsubversive.org, but this site wants to give special nomination to the worst of the worst.

The 2008 Worst Politico Nominees:

Gov. Jindal of Louisiana. He calls ALL Former Offenders "monsters," wants to ship all of the to Angola Prison, and passed legislation sending Former Offenders to segregated Hurricane Shelters, not to mention he's trying to pressure SCOTUS to reverse the recent decision barring states from execute people committing sex cimes WHERE NO DEATH WAS INVOLVED. Oh, and the castration bill.

Arizona Senator/ Republican Presidential candidate John McCain-- http://www.johnmccain.com/Informing/Issues/95b18512-d5b6-456e-90a2-12028d71df58.htm"John McCain has taken a hard line against pedophiles that would use the Internet to prey upon children by proposing the first-of-its-kind national online registry for persons who have been convicted of sex crimes against children. Senator McCain's legislation requires that sex offenders register all online accounts in a national database that can be used by law enforcement to investigate crimes against children. If these predators fail to register they would be sent to prison for ten years. The legislation also makes use of the Internet an "aggravating factor" in sex crimes against children, adding an additional ten years to any conviction"Ironically, McCain DOESN'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO USE A COMPUTER! Yet he penned the KIDS Act of 2008, a rehash of the other 3 failed laws he proposed limiting internet usage.

I nominate the governor of California, Arnold Schwartzeneger, aka the gropenator! He has passed more stupid, useless offender laws than any other governor ub the US.

Worst State in the Union 2008

[NOTE: 2008 POLLING CLOSED! Revised post reflects the final nominees for the 2008 Awards]

Why didn't I think of this before?

Worst state in the union for sex offender laws! Not all states are created equal, and this is a place to tell me which is the worst of the worst!

My pick is Ohio. You know how Missouri is the "show me" state (insert joke)? Well, Ohio could be the "Me First" state. It seems wirh every idiotic RSO law idea that comes down the pike, Ohio has to be first in line, just like that fat bully kid at chow time. A quick run down of the Ohio "Me First" attitude. Ohio was the FIRST state to implement the Abominable Walsh Act. They passed it just in time to keep all those guys about to get off the registry after 10 years back on it. They apparently also wanted to be the first to get sued as well! Don't forget we have that idiotic civil registry, which allows you to put people on a sex offender registry without a conviction. Why is Joshua Lunsford not on it, by the way? Ohio wants to be the first to pass those puke green license plates, and also the first to place microchips in former offenders like you would Fido. Start with Mark Dann LOL!

Anonymous said...
Louisiana! Check out the laws they keep passing - and then adding TO the laws they pass making it harder and harder to live there as a former sex offender! Castration bill, residency restrictions added, mandatory minimums for "Computer Aided Solicitation of a Minor" yet it's not so for having sex with a minor! It's actually harsher punishment for talking about sex than having it in Louisiana! Come on! What can be worse than this state! [Don't forget segregated hurricane shelters]

To round out the voting:Add Florida, because they send RSOs to live under bridges. [In one county, they can't even get government grants]

Add Texas, because they won't even let you attend CHURCH! Or even drive by it!

Nominate The Worst News Mutt 2008

[NOTE: 2008 POLLING CLOSED! This post revised to reflect final nominees for the 2008 awards]

It is no secret the media plays a major role in shaping public opinion, so when media hounds shovel more poo than the local waste mangement board, it has long lasting consequences. These media hounds are more like media MUTTS, but for some strange reason, people hinge on their every words. Like a bad dog who poos on the floor, I thik these news mutts need their nose shoved in their own poo.

My first nominee for Worst News Hound is Lis Wiehl, the so-called "Legal Analyst" over at Fox News. Fox has a long tradition of airheaded windbags-- Bill O'Reilly, Wendy Murphy (see worst quotes for this airhead) and now Lis Wiehl. I have figured out how Fox finds legal analysts for their programming. What you do is find a helium tank and stick the hose in your ear, plug the other ear, ad turn on the air. If you lift off the ground, you're hired! Anyways, comments such as those below are the reason Fox is the cesspool of depravity and ignorance. Maybe Fox should stick with Family Guy and the Simpsons.
http://foxforum.blogs.foxnews.com/2008/07/03/once-a-pedophile-always-a-pedophile/
"Unthinkable…But sexual assault of a child is unlike any other crime. Why? Because someone who is willing to cross the line to pedophilia can never turn back. A shoplifter can be rehabilitated, a burglar can be rehabilitated, even a murderer can be rehabilitated. But not a pedophile. Once a pedophile, always a pedophile. And the children drawn in are the most hapless of victims…betrayed by the people most responsible for taking care of them…tragic."
Sadly, so many sheeple will believe every single comment this airhead just said. Sickening.
I put the bar high. Think any place can do worse than Fox?

Check out this guy -- Kevin Fischer, ALLEGEDLY an award winning news broadcaster AND legislative yes-man to Minnesota state senator Mary Lazich. THIS is how he treats those who oppose his idiocy in his commentaries:The organized out of state sex offender sympathizers strike, the same tired, old arguments. "Wouldnt you rather know WHERE that offender is living than having them homeless, hopeless, and unable to locate?"I'd rather have them nowhere near children.Magister, whoever you are, the people of Wisconsin don't agree with you. In three dozen communities, communities have taken the common sense step of either adopting or seriously considering measures to protect their families and neighborhoods. That is their duty and their right.I make no apologies for my stance and refuse to waver: pro-child, pro-family, anti-sex offender/predator." If he was pro-family, he wouldn't support efforts to destroy families of Former Offenders by forcing them out of his neighborhood. "The people of Greenfield can take measures into their own hands right now and I urge them to do so."So he now supports vigilantism. Its obvious he has a hidden agenda"Ahh, we've got the network of sex pervert apologists jumping now!Magister, there are many days I wish I was just a broadcaster. But I guess I'm just one of those dummies who doesn't understand that sex offenders never re-offend, that once they're out, they'e just like everybody else and should be allowed to live and go where ever they want, and under no circumstances should a city, town, or village ever consider passing laws in the interest of public safety."At least he admits to being a dummy LOL. "Fallenone (nice moniker) your comment is not being posted because it linked to a website loaded with profanities. I won't have that on my blog.By the way, folks, none of these "Take a sex offender out to lunch and pin a medal on him" yahoo's are from this sate and don't have a stake in our communities."I linked to my Residency Restrictions fact sheet. He considers the TRUTH about sex offender restrictions "profane." I think this clown is going to run away with THIS nomination!

Kevin Fisher is at it again!http://blogs.franklinnow.com/this_just_in/archive/2008/10/08/the-latest-weapon-against-sex-offenders-and-other-offender-news.aspx
"And finally, here’s a story for all those sex offender apologists and sympathizers who flood my blog whenever I write about imposing tough restrictions on where offenders can live. They bleed all over my blog that the risk of re-offending is low, that parents and neighbors have little to fear.""Right on cue. Here come the hand wringers for the perverts. The deviates come first, not your kids."The most classic-- In response to comments about Foley and similar cases involving Republicans committing sex crimes, he offers this:"And there've been plenty of Democrats who've been naughty."NAUGHTY? Sex crimes are simply NAUGHTY?! This dude is a serious trip

An editorial by Brandon Melnyk in the Grand Valley Lanthorn finds the local newspaper CONDONING VIGILANTE VIOLENCE!"Gibson was fed up with how long it was taking the police to respond to the error, and instead, she did what she believed was right. She protected her daughter the only way she knows how and took matters into her own hands..."When people simply expect someone else to take care of something — such as monitoring sex offender registries — the consequences can be dangerous. Stand up for what you believe in, even if that means taking matters into your own hands..."But, whichever way you look at this situation, Gibson’s message was sent loud and clear."Oh its loud and clear, you condone CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR

Geez, another moron.Lisa Fritsch (rhymes with "bitch") of 590 KLBJ of Austin, Texas, was one of the morons raising money to bail out deranged vigilante and "everyday zeroes award" Angry Tammy Lee Gibson! The most ironic statement comes from Fritsch herself:"Whatever she has done in the past is not the point." Well whatever he had done in the past is not the point. He's a free man who served his time! Ever heard of "rehabilitation?" "The point is that when she took a bat to William Baldwin she was a hero. She had the courage to do what most of us should, but wouldn’t because we are the soccer moms in the minivans who are afraid to hurt someone’s feelings or we are afraid of how we might look. What Mr. Troyer should be thinking is that if everybody went out and beat up a sex offender, we might have a lot less sex offenders. This is the point. Home run and bravo to Ms. Gibson."No Fritsch-bitch. The point is condoning vigilante violence is vile, disgusting, and criminal, and more than a deserving of a Shiitake Award!

Nominate the "Everyday Zeroes Award" 2008

[NOTE: 2008 POLLING CLOSED! Revised Post reflects the nominees for the 2008 Awards]

The "Everyday Zeroes Award" is for those common folk (no celebrities, newshounds, or politicos) who have used words or actions against Former Offenders in order to claim their 15 minutes of fame. Instead, the Shiitake Awards will grant them 15 minutes of SHAME.

My inaugural nominee is Tammy Lee Gibson, aka, "Angry Tammy," of Puyallup, Washington.
Upon hearing a Former Offender moved into her neighborhood, crazy Tammy went to his trailer and assaulted him with a baseball bat. Angry Tammy was charged with Second Degree Assault and Felony Harassment, but amazingly received less bail than her victim, who was arrested on "suspicion" of failure to register as a sex offender. Since when was attempted murder less of a crime than failure to register?
http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/local/367875_bat21.html?source=mypi
Tammy Lee Gibson has mile long criminal history, including pevious assaults and drug charges, yet, despite this, people were calling this nutjob a "hero," and a few people even sent her crack.. er, "bail" money
http://blog.seattlepi.nwsource.com/seattle911/archives/142080.asp
Worse, this looney toon was bailed out, despite threatening to kill her victim WHILE IN JAIL
http://www.komonews.com/news/local/20589369.html
Therefore, Angry Tammy Lee Gibson is my inaugural pick for the "Everyday Zeroes Award"

And he isn't learning his lesson:"Despite his June 25 court date, Metcalf said he is keeping the pressure on Larsen by distributing fliers with Larsen’s picture and identifying information, and Metcalf is attempting to organize a 'parent watch' to raise public awareness. Nominate the "Hardest Fall" 2008

[NOTE: 2008 POLLING CLOSED! Revised post reflects all nominees for the 2008 awards]

The bigger they are the harder they fall! Especially loudmouthed, obnoxious politicos who get caught with their hand in the cookie jar! I think we're sick of "do as we say not as we do," so I think its time we do as they did and plaster their asses on a virtual registry of shame.

My inaugural nominee is-- Mark "The Page Master" Foley!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Foley_scandal
Marky Mark was on the NCMEC committee where he will be "sorely missed" (we can only guess which body part will be sorest). He help push that Abominable Walsh Act through Congress. All the while he pined for a teenage congressional page to "sharpen his pencil."
His excuse? He's an "alcoholic," and he was "molested by a priest" as a child. Well I was molested, physically abused, and abandoned as a kid, but I don't use it as an excuse for my crime. Of course Foley had about 500 or so enablers, affectionately known as the US Congress, who happily swept it under the rug for years. Which of course, means pass more sex crime laws to save face. Did I mention he's not facing charges? I'm setting the bar high, y'all.

Nominate the Dumbest Sex Offender Law 2008

[NOTE: POLLING FOR 2008 AWARDS CLOSED! Edited post reveals all nominees for the 2008 awards]

Pretty much every RSO law is ineffective and counterproductive, but some laws are simply incomprehensible. These laws are the epitome of stupidity, and deserve a star on the walk of shame.

There are so many of them-- where do we start?

My inaugural nominee for this Category is the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act of 2006! (I bet nobody is surprised)
http://www.oncefallen.com/AdamWalshAct.html
There are so many holes in the practice of this law, it could only be used for whale nets. Lets see, how about the mass confusion over how offenders would be reclassified, gives the NCMEC immunity from lawsuits for all their screwups, allows for the uncivil commitment of offenders on the basis of a "mental illness" (if mental illness is a risk actor, a lot of lawmakers would be suspect), calls for GPS "pilot programs" (the microchips are coming soon, BTW), and stiff mandatory minimums, among other nasties. I wonder why the Senate had to hold an "emergency meeting" to push this abomination through legislature? Why Johnny boy Walsh had to claim detractors here child molesters to strong-arm it through legislature (By the way, why is it named for someone who ISN'T a sex crime victim anyways?)? And why did Attorney General Gonzal-ASS have to exploit a loophole in AG office procedure to apply this law unconstituionally retroactive? Smells like shiitake to me! Blow-hio and Joke-lahoma have passed the Abominable Walsh Act in their states, sending thousands of low risk offenders like drunken mooners or teens having consentual sex with each other, into the "high risk" category. Not to mention the THOUSANDS of subsequent lawsuits, and more confusion over the application of this nonsensical law! I believe AWA will win hands down. However, I believe there are equally insane laws out there that needs the spotlight!

There are so many because the concept is so flawed!

California's Proposition 83:Parolees aren't allowed to leave SF county but there is no place in SF county they are allowed to live.

Alabama's Community Notification Act:Makes it a felony for an RSO to be homeless - they must register an address or go back to jail. Can't communicate with family of victim. Many RSO's commit a felony by talking to themselves. Can't reside within 1000 yds of former victim. How can they obey this law without always knowing where the victim resides? Stalking is illegal.

Georgia's 42-1-15: So absurd that it's the only one that that is almost immediately overturned with each revision. RSO's can't die in a hospice if it's near a church.

Worst Quote Ever 2008

[NOTE: POLLING FOR 2008 CLOSED! Edited post reveals 2008 nominees]

Former offenders catch a lot of flack from politicos and celebrity "activists," but a few of these individuals go above and beyond the usual spiel to let out choice quotes that, quite frankly, should sicken and appall anyone who hears and reads it. Sadly, most of this sickening behavior is actually applauded by the general public. Let us give them the dishonor they deserve:

The inaugural nominee is... John Walsh from America's Most Wanted!
http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/zap-presstournotes,0,1056741.story?coll=bal-news-nav
So many quotes, so little time:
"Now, I don't want to sound like a vigilante. That's something that I don't believe in..."
"I said I was kidding when I was talking to the Senate and I said they were talking about electronic monitoring, which is big and unwieldy for the sex offenders, and that some of these guys, no matter what the law in their state was, would have to wear one for 20 years or whatever. I said implant it in their anus and if they go outside the radius, explode it and that would send a big message. It was a joke. Nobody thought it was funny."
"I'm all for criminals doing their time, all for rehabilitation, all for a second chance." followed almost immediately by "I say put the pedophiles down in the yard. Put them in there. Let them do the time with the rest of the guys. Let them see what it's like to be terrorized by a 250-pound guy."
Things got more heated, though, when a photographer under FOX's employee elected to get into an extended and rather intense conversation with Walsh about marking sexual offenders. They were on so much on the same page that when Walsh mentioned bracelets for perpetrators, the photographer replied, "Not bracelets, not bracelets. The bracelets bulls***. The bracelets bulls***, John, you know that. It's BS." Walsh then suggested putting embedded GPS chips, to which the photographer said, "I'll say bury it deep inside them, is what I say. I don't care how big it is," which earned Walsh's scary reply, "I love your attitude."
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/07/25/AR2006072501590_pf.html
Continuing his riveting performance, he said his wife had suggested that when he went to Washington to stump for the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act, he ask all the congressmen who he thought were holding up the legislation named in honor of his son whether they were child molesters or if they had child porn on their computers. "I said, 'Reve, I don't really use that tack walking through the halls.' But leave it to the mother of a murdered child to cut to the chase."
Gee, I wonder if Johnny boy thought to ask Mark Foley that last question? Foley signed the Abominable Walsh Act in one hand while naughty-texting teen pages in the other hand.
I welcome any other choice quotes to be nominated for this category!

The point of this is not to make folks’ hearts bleed for sex offenders. But let’s acknowledge what the real point of these laws is. Or better yet, let’s hear from San Diego County District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis, who when asked by the reporter the perfunctory ‘where are they supposed to go?’ replied:
The real intent of Jessica’s Law is to put people that violate children and others in prison and keep them there.

Few topics were as popular in the Capitol, leading Rep. Danny Martiny, R-Metairie, to joke about it as the legislative session wound to a close.Said Martiny: "Is there anything left we can do to sex offenders with a few days left in the session?" Wow. Destroying every shred of dignity in a human being is a "joke" to this idiot. That son of a bitch.
