Now that the US Marshals have jurisdiction over compliance checks, they have abused the privilege. They also love making stupid names for their various Gestapo operations. This award will be for the dumbest operation name. Feel free to send in your nomination today!

Nominees so far:

1. Ector Co., TX's Registration, Enforcement, Apprehension and Prosecution team, or REAP team: They should put the E at the end, seeing as how these laws are RAPE-ing the Constitution.

2. West Pennsylvania's "Operation Grand Slam:" Why name an operation after a Denny's breakfast? Hell, if you want an accurate operation name tying in food and cops, how about Operation Dunkin' Donuts instead?

3. GA's "Operation Storm Troupers": If you immediately thought Star Wars and Darth Vader, my mind was on a more real evil dictator who had Storm Troopers and the Luftwaffe.

4. SC's "Operation AWOL": Are registrants in the army now? I wouldn't fight for this country. Or is the point of the operation to encourage non-compliance? Maybe they'll be hiding in the Denny's ordering the Grand Slam.

5. LA's "Operation Summertime Blues": At least in this case the pigs admit they are a bunch of downers.

6. TX's "Operation Chester": Forgetting the fact that TX has over 4000 kids on the registry, it is an intentional slight by a small time hick sheriff's office.

7. MO's "Operation LASER" (local Agencies Supervise and Enforce Registrations): I opt for Local OFFICERS Supervise and Enforce Registration Stupidity, or "LOSERS."

8. IL's "Operation TALON": I'm not sure what the "talon" stands for but buzzards have talons. Just a thought.

9. TX's "Operation Fury": So just to check on residences, the US Gestapo resorts to violent actions. They as well have named it "Operation Blitzkreig."

10. SC's "Operation Surefire": This compliance check is a surefire way to look like the goons you are. Idiots.

11. KS's "Operation Tornado — Tracking Offender Registration Notification And Deterrence Operation": What a fitting depiction on how this harassment destroys families and lives.

Texas Law allows Department of Family and Protective Services allows caseworkers to add your name to the sex offender registry without a trial:

This law is so messed up, State Rep. John Zerwas, R-Katy, had to propose a bill, HB 1194, which would allow suspected abusers greater due process to challenge their inclusion in the registry. Before a name goes into the database, Zerwas wants the accused to be properly notified, have a copy of the record and access to swift appeal to a state administrative hearing judge.

Even the exonerated were added to the list.

Missouri's Hallowed Grounds Act will ban sex offenders from burial in national cemetaries:

The "Hallowed Grounds Act," introduced by Republican Rep. Vicky Hartzler, would prohibit an individual who is classified as a Tier III sex offender under the Sex Offender Registration Act from being buried at a veterans or national cemetery. A Tier III sex offender is one whose offenses against a child might include the crimes of aggravated sexual abuse or abusive sexual contact."While veterans guilty of capital crimes have justly been denied burial in our national cemeteries, veterans guilty of sexual abuse of children are still entitled to these honors," Hartzler said. "Allowing these offenders to rest in fields of honor is an insult to America's military heroes. Furthermore, it is an outrage to the victims and their families."

AL HB 378, Alabama's SORNA Act:

Registered sex offenders who are homeless are required to check in once a week.
Those who do day labor must provide local law enforcement with details about where and when they will be working each day.
Sex offenders will have to pay a $10 fee every time they register. That same fee will also be charged for every move.
A travel permit is required through local law enforcement if a sex offender plans to be away from their residence for more than three days or if they plan to travel outside the area.
Those sex offenders who have been classified as sexual predators or convicted of sexually violent crimes will be required to wear a Global Positioning System (GPS) for 10 years, at their own expense.
Some youthful offenders and juveniles, those charged with more serious sex crimes, will have to register for a lifetime instead of 10 years.

Missouri's Amy Hestir Student Protection Act: "Under a new Missouri law, teachers who "friend" a current or former student on Facebook could soon run afoul of state codes...The new law states that teachers "cannot establish, maintain or use a work-related website unless it is available to school administrators and the child's legal custodian, physical custodian, or legal guardian." The legislation also bans teachers from using "a nonwork-related website that allows exclusive access with a current or former student." I understand why you'd want to discourage parent-teacher sexual relationships but this law takes it too far by implying that any time treachers and students talk its for sex.

Florida's HB 251, the "Walk in Their Shoes Act" (a.k.a. the Lauren Book Act): The Shiitake Awards just wouldn't be the same without some representation from Florida, would it? This is the Lauren Book law. What makes this bill dangerous is that this bill allows prior convictions or accusations to be admitted as evidence in trial, which all but guarantees a former offender will not get a fair trial. It also denies access to evidence in child porn accusations, which will bar defense attorneys from presenting adequate defense.

Mattel took it one step further by making Kidnapping Ken, complete with rusty van, a puppy, a trenchcoat, and candy. Okay I made up Kidnapping Ken but the FBI made up shit too.

Evan Emory gets 60 days for silly YouTube video: Evan Emory will spend 60 days in jail and two years on probation. Emory posted a video online that made it appear that he was singing a sexually explicit song to first-graders. The story goes like this-- this guy got permission to film first graders while he sings a child friendly song. Then he edited the video to make it look like he sang a sexually explicit song to the kids (which he didn't). It may have been in poor taste but it isn't criminal considering there have been similar videos out there. At least he doesn't have to register as part of a plea. Instead, the prosecutor should be in jail for wasting our time on this story.

Ector County TX fires woman for marrying a sex offender: An Odessa woman is suing the county after she lost her job. The reason she was fired? She married a man on the public registry. Though she worked as a juvenile probation officer, her husband had absolutely no contact with the teens. They fired her on association alone. Now she's suing the county; in the suit, Shirley Raymond is seeking $90,000 in lost income and benefits, $750,000 in future loss of income and $1.5 million for mental anguish, pain and suffering, in addition to reinstatement to her job. I hope she wins. That's Texass "justice" for you.

Carole Markin sues Match.com, claiming she was raped by a sex offender: Carole Markin is the "Jane Doe" in the Match.com alleged rape case. Markin's identity was revealed by Markin herself; in grand fashion, she sent out a press release where she calls herself "the Erin Brockovich of internet dating." Though she claimed she was not suing for money, she was gaining publicity for her story. Was it a coincidence she had a series of books about bad dating experiences? Match dot com caved in to her wishes, and is now using facial recognition software to delete members who look like sex offenders. Well if nothing else, she may get one award for her game-- a Shiitake Award.

Karen Spears Zacharias outs registrant for commenting on her blog, thinks seeking help for her issues is "creepy:" Who is Karen? Allegedly a Christian author who boasts about being on, among other places, the 700 Club. She also writes books, one of them being a book about how fear kills faith. I agree, fear and faith are rather incompatible. I wonder if Jesus recently changed his laws to exclude reformed registrants, since Karen decided to out some guy who posted a few comments on her blog after someone pointed out he is a sex offender, and she decided to humiliate the guy by creating a blog post about him, "Sex Offender targets Christian women." From her own mouth: "Tonight I received a disturbing email from a blog visitor that has stopped me in my tracks. This reader was writing to advise me that one of the people in this blog community is a registered sex offender. As proof they sent me the link to the registration.

Idaho Republicans protest the reading of a sex offender bill: Midway through the afternoon, House Minority Leader Representative John Rusche (D-Lewiston) asked for a full reading of a 29-page Senate Bill dealing with sex offender registration. Immediately, many chairs emptied on the floor. After a few pages, Republicans started speaking out. "Mr. Speaker, I protest this," Representative JoAn Wood (R-Rigby) said from her seat on the floor. "I feel sorry for the clerk to have to read this. And not only that, I feel sorry for those of us that have to sit and hear this." Wood said she didn't think bill language involving descriptions of sex crimes should be read on the House floor. She said it was more tolerable in it's one legally-required reading in committee. "Even though it is the law, I think it's inappropriate that it be read fully, in its entirety, and I would ask unanimous consent that we cease from reading the bill further. Thank you Mr. Speaker," Representative Stephen Hartgen (R-Twin Falls) said. Democrats kept quiet, and the clerk stopped reading. The bill passed. Rusche said he did not object to stopping the bill reading because he understood the concerns. -- They SHOULD be apologizing to those who are forced to live under their latest law.

Daniel R. Narron: This piece of shit teenager targets people with his car-

"Daniel R. Narron, 19, was arrested Friday and charged with attempted murder, attempted malicious wounding by mob, hit-and-run driving and misuse of the sex offender registry, said state police Sgt. Thomas Molnar. The victim called Hopewell police, who requested that Virginia State Police investigate the case. "From my understanding, Narron knew who this person was based information that Narron had previously obtained from the web site," Molnar said. "And he began harassing him about being a sex offender based on that information from the web site. Narron recognized him as a registered sex offender." "The public web site is out there for the public to use for informational purposes," Molnar said. "But Narron went above and beyond that. He took the information that he received from the web site and harassed this guy based on him being a sex offender."

UPDATE: This asshat got a whopping 11 months in jail :

Daniel R. Narron of Hopewell pleaded guilty in Hopewell Circuit Court to attempted unlawful wounding, a felony, and to disorderly conduct and hit and run, both misdemeanors.

Approving the terms of the agreement, Judge Samuel E. Campbell sentenced Narron to five years for the felony and 12 months for each misdemeanor charge, but the judge suspended all of the jail time. Narron, who has spent about 11 months in jail, was expected to be released today.

Also today, three co-defendants entered pleas to misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and failure to report an accident. Each was convicted and told the charges would be dismissed after one year if the defendants remain on good behavior._____________________________________________________________

Danielle Schneider: This lady was not happy with the sentence of a man a sex offender who allegedly abused her daughter, so she decided to start blogging about him, which she has done for two years. She decided attacking the alleged sex offender was not enough so she started attacking the family. Ultimately he was sued by her target, as the online harassment has prevented him from getting a job. I've had more viewers for the Shiitake Awards than she has for her show, even after Jane Velez Mitchell was promoting her on "Tissues." Barbara Farris was the only one who believe Casey Anthony's lame child abuse defense, which received heavy criticism for her usual stupidity.

Farris: "Well, whether they testified or not, she still shows the signs of it. And the point that we want to get to is if she was abused -- if the alleged abuse was true, that`s what created the situation. Sexual abuse happens and it affects a person for a generation. When you`re sexually abused, it causes abuse, it creates more abuse. It causes them to become abusive" -

“I think you could spend an unlimited amount of money on education and it will never eliminate crime. We have crime committed by people that have no respect for human life; we have crimes committed by people who have no respect for property.” He went on to say, "[criminals] will use that education and they will use that intellect in order to commit their crimes.” Spoken like a true persecutor. Why waste money on educating our youth, eh? Its far easier to catch them if they are dumber than the pursuers. Only problem is, the pursuers will come out of that same uneducated batch.

Judge T. Jordan Gallagher, 16th Judicial District court judge, Illinois: In ruling on a case where a low level registrant was serving as coach of a youth baseball team, Judge Gallagher sentences the man to electronic home monitoring, 24 months of a specialized probation for sex offenders and ordered him to re-enroll in a counseling program that he participated in following his original arrest. He was also ordered to undergo a new psychiatric evaluation, despite evaluations showing the registrant has no attraction to boys. In addition, Gallagher gives us this comment:

“You are a sex offender and there are rules, and whether you like them or not, you’ve got to follow them. You’re a second-class citizen and will be for the rest of your life.” Judges are lowest class.

Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett: Picking on a hick town pol is like picking on a kid with mental retardation; he's an easy target but you feel guilty doing it because, well, he's retarded. So he's a rather big city mayor (By the way, since when do COUNTIES have Mayors?) so its not as bad. So, in passing a ban of registrants from public libraries, his reply was, "The time to shut the barn doors is before the cows get out. After you have an event where there is an abduction or a kid molested in a bathroom, it's too late." I wonder if he picked a banjo and shouted Yee-haw!" while saying this. The rest of his gems:
"I'm kind of sick of this notion that we have to offer equal access to things, they can still access everything on a computer or have other people check books out." Later: “I don’t know what they’ve pled down to,” he explains in a phone interview, noting that some offenders were originally charged with more serious crimes. “What about the rights of the innocent children whose lives have been ruined? What about the innocent woman who has been raped? What about their rights?”Burchett says he has zero concerns that he is violating the rights of sex offenders and isn’t worried about a lawsuit.Yee-haw! He ignores a ruling in New Mexico that found the bans unconstitutional.

Tuscumbia AL police Chief Tony Logan: Logan is a special case because he's not only a small town cop, he's a police chief currently serving probation for DUI. How he even has the job is beyond me. They must be desperate in Tuscumbia. Anyways, Logan the Lush was interviewed by the Times Daily on Halloween laws. Here is a gem from Logan, and I'm hoping it's just the alcohol talking:

The News media really deserve an award just because they published this BS, but this woman deserves it more. Supposedly there is this network of sex offenders telling people where the best places to hide and possibly re-offend are, and some Podunk town in Texas is allegedly on this list. I never even heard of Bandera until now, but Hicks lets out a real gem of a bad quote. "They might be communicating with each other," Hicks said. "So we are trying to find out if there's a sex offender network." Earth to Manda, now we know you exist. Matt Rodriguez, Lebanon OH city councilman: Matt Rotriguez is a big fat fish in a tiny pond. He makes the list for complaining taxpayer dollars are "wasted" on giving assistance to a disabled person because he is on the sex offender list.

"A Lebanon councilman said he is concerned taxpayer dollars are being used to house convicted sex offenders who are also classified as having mental illnesses.... Rodriguez has receipts of payment that shows the housing for one resident who is also listed on the Warren County Sheriff’s list of convicted sex offenders was being paid for by MHRS through an intermediary." And yet this fat bastard hasn't missed many meals or many opportunities to piss off his constituents.

A report on Minnesota's sex-offender program delivered to legislators in the final days of the Pawlenty administration was heavily edited by a top political appointee to reflect the former governor's skepticism about the effectiveness of treatment and to delete arguments for expanded community resources for offenders. A copy of the original report obtained by the Star Tribune shows more than 35 redactions in 63 pages, including complete paragraphs describing community treatment strategies. The original draft was written by teams of state and community mental health professionals. Cal Ludeman... [stated] that he edited the mandated report because "it was promising too much'' and the administration preferred to continue its emphasis on tougher prison sentences for sex offenders.

Ken Oswalt, Licking County OH prosecutor: Small town "justice" is rarely justice, even if that small hick town is nort of the Mason-Dixon line, and the thought of convicting a 12 year old for sex crimes is pretty repugnant unless you are a small town pol. Enter Ken Oswalt, who is appealing an Ohio Supreme conviction against a 12 year old boy who had apparently mutually consensual sex with an 11 year old boy.

"Justice Judith Ann Lanzinger wrote in the court's opinion."When an adult engages in sexual conduct with a child under the age of 13, it is clear which party is the offender and which is the victim. But when two children under the age of 13 engage in sexual conduct with each other, each child is both an offender and a victim, and the distinction between those two terms breaks down." Utah had a similar case a few years ago.

COLUMBUS-- As he rolled out a new plan to protect Ohio kids from sex offenders, Attorney General Mike DeWine described predators as "clowns," "scum" and even "jackasses." "They're literally out there like sharks and they're going to hit just as fast as they can. We're going to hit back," DeWine said. The "Crimes Against Children Initiative" includes a new unit at the Bureau of Investigation. The plan is to hire 15 experts who will investigate child pornography cases online. The program also expands the number of special prosecutors in the Attorney General's office, creates a rapid response team, provides specialized training for local law enforcement, and aims to raise public awareness about convicted sex offenders who have not complied with registration laws. DeWine said plans for the program had been in the works weeks before a high profile sex abuse scandal broke out at Penn State University, but the case is a reminder. "My fear is that people will look at the tragedy of Penn State and say, 'Well that was over there' and not realize it happens every single day," DeWine said.

If that wasn't enough to make her case for DA of the year (only in this case DA means Dumb Ass), she obtained a gag order to prevent the parents from speaking publicly about the case. She bypassed the parents and sent a court summons directly to the kid (threatening to lock him up if he doesn't show up), and is even demanding the kid sign an admission of guilt. Kerry Dougherty of the Virginian-Pilot: Doughtery wrote an article on Nov. 30, 2010 (just missing last year's deadline) entitled "Special laws protecting sex offenders are an insult." The real insult was allowing this article to be printed. Doughtery states that the disclaimer warning people that abusing the public registry should be abolished because it is "unneeded," and then she describes a story that gives the very reason why the law exists in the first place.

"Meet the la test, He's 19-year-old Daniel R. Narron of Hopewell. According to the Times-Dispatch, Narron was arrested in October after he allegedly recognized a 52-year-old sex offender from the registry and pursued him. Police said Narron, who was at the wheel of a Lincoln Navigator with three passengers, chased the older man and knocked him off his moped. The registered offender wasn't hurt, but Narron was charged with attempted murder, attempted malicious wounding by mob and hit-and-run. And misuse of the sex offender registry. In other words, Narron faces more jail time because he allegedly attacked a sex offender than he'd face if he'd committed the exact same crime against an ordinary decent Virginian. That's wrong."

Actually it makes a good case to abolish the registry. She then says, "And the registry shouldn't be used by vigilantes to torment offenders.When that happens, the culprits should be prosecuted under the same laws that protect all Virginians." Hey Kerry, that is exactly why the law exists in the first place, because of vigilantes.

Ryan Simms of KIMA-TV29: Like Jessica Fagan, Simms sounds the fear mongering alarm with more scare tactics. In this instance, sex offenders found a "legal loophole" through Washington state's rule on posting mugshots.

YAKIMA -- KIMA uncovered an alarming loophole in local sex offender laws. Through one of your tips, Action News learned there are no rules that require a sex offender to retake a mug shot. That means there is no rule against changing your appearance as soon as a picture is taken.YSO says it does take note of how an offender looks when they have to re-register. Police tells us most sex offenders just have one mug shot taken after their crime.

And if someone was intent on being unnoticed, he'd do it after every check-in, dumbass. However, even if he doesn't alter his appearance he wouldn't be recognized by people who don't check the stupid list.

Heidi Hemmet of Fox 31 Denver: Heidi helped get a former offender fired from a cook job at a Dairy Queen thanks to her "investigative reporting." Translation-- her yellow journalism. It must have been sweeps week. The ominous story is titled "Sex offender serving ice cream at DQ."

"We confronted ***** while he was working at the Dairy Queen and he tried to get away from our cameras. The owner of the franchise, Molly Pang, defended ***, even after we informed her he is a registered sex offender. "I have no problem with him," she told us. Pang admitted she has several convicted felons working for her that she hired right out of prison. "I’m helping them out," she said, because she believes everybody deserves a second chance. Pang did not think parents should be concerned. However, some parents we spoke with disagree... FOX 31 Denver contacted Pang again after our initial interview. She told us ***** lied to her about his criminal record, and she didn’t know he was a sex offender until after we confronted him. She says Schiff no longer works for her."

I doubt the guy lied, instead an excuse was made to save face. Fire Hemmet instead!

Dave Summers of WKYC-3 Cleveland: Dave Summers issues another scary article, but it is what Summers points out in the report that lands him a spot in this report. The person in the report is no longer on the pubic registry, yet Summers makes it a point to let everyone know about this man's past and implying he's doing something wrong.

"First it was the neighborhood watching out for him. Now, a sex offender, recently taken off Lorain County's registry, is "watching them"... on camera. "I don't understand how the law can't protect us from him, but they are going to protect him from me," Osborn said. The man behind the cameras is ****. Lorain County's sex offender unit says *** was a sexually oriented offender, taken off the registry last June. The victim was a seven-year-old girl. Neighbors don't know for sure what the cameras see -- only that they are pointed toward their homes."

So they hate being watched? Tough shiitakes. They asked for this Big Brother state.

Despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary, Stimson uses anecdotal arguments peppered with a few court cases to suggest the debacle of the AWA is worth it, despite the fact the majority of states say no. I guess you'll always find some schmuck who will support it, but using irrelevant evidence and a moralistic approach is a no-no.

"Anyone should be able to go online and not only see a list of those registered and their crimes, but where they live." No they shouldn't. This fluff piece lies to the people, suggesting that transient offenders are dodging registration requirements, she is in FOOL support of the Adamn Walsh Act. "So although legislation to fix the loopholes overwhelmingly passed the House and, in the past, the Senate, it might stall again, even though there is no ideological, political or faith-based fight on the back end as there is with Marcellus Shale fees, liquor store privatization, abortion clinic regulations or school vouchers. This should be an easy one for the General Assembly. The fixes help keep our children safe, they are supported by every law enforcement official in the state, and they don’t cost additional money." Is this woman for real?

Bandera County deputies said there could be a network of sex offenders that are recommending the best places to hide and possibly reoffend. Unfortunately, deputies said Bandera seems to be on the map, and that has parents on edge. Law enforcement has been scrambling to keep tabs on some 57 sex offenders. They said two to three percent of the population is made up of child predators, and they don't think that is a coincidence. Manda Hicks, administrative deputy for the Bandera County Sheriff's Office, said there could be a sophisticated network of sex offenders that are spreading the word to move to Bandera County. "They might be communicating with each other," Hicks said. "So we are trying to find out if there's a sex offender network."Bandera deputies said they always need the public's help to send a message to sex offenders that they can't hide."

Winder, The Cypress Times: It is sad to see such ignorance and fear mongering coming from a Christian site, but reading "The Monster Next Door: The Plague of Sex Offenders" will leave little doubt as to why he was nominated. Any person who quotes Family Watchdog, scares people with comments about "blood red" dots and gratuitous use of the word "monster" should get a nomination. Granted, he published my retort, but you have no idea what I went through to get it publish it. I had to rewrite it multiple times, plus he was a major asshole about it, not allowing me to challenge his words or even allude to it.

Again, this proves why journalism is better left to professionals (though that is not a guarantee either)

Thus, this "Award" may stand as the only mark of shame to a scumbag vigilante seeking his or her 15 minutes of fame. But I digress...

Worst state in the union for sex offender laws! Not all states are created equal, and this is a place to tell me which is the worst of the worst!

My pick is Ohio. You know how Missouri is the "show me" state (insert joke)? Well, Ohio could be the "Me First" state. It seems wirh every idiotic RSO law idea that comes down the pike, Ohio has to be first in line, just like that fat bully kid at chow time. A quick run down of the Ohio "Me First" attitude. Ohio was the FIRST state to implement the Abominable Walsh Act. They passed it just in time to keep all those guys about to get off the registry after 10 years back on it. They apparently also wanted to be the first to get sued as well! Don't forget we have that idiotic civil registry, which allows you to put people on a sex offender registry without a conviction. Why is Joshua Lunsford not on it, by the way? Ohio wants to be the first to pass those puke green license plates, and also the first to place microchips in former offenders like you would Fido. Start with Mark Dann LOL!

Castration bill, residency restrictions added, mandatory minimums for "Computer Aided Solicitation of a Minor" yet it's not so for having sex with a minor! It is no secret the media plays a major role in shaping public opinion, so when media hounds shovel more poo than the local waste mangement board, it has long lasting consequences. My first nominee for Worst News Hound is Lis Wiehl, the so-called "Legal Analyst" over at Fox News. Fox has a long tradition of airheaded windbags-- Bill O'Reilly, Wendy Murphy (see worst quotes for this airhead) and now Lis Wiehl. I have figured out how Fox finds legal analysts for their programming. What you do is find a helium tank and stick the hose in your ear, plug the other ear, ad turn on the air. If you lift off the ground, you're hired! Anyways, comments such as those below are the reason Fox is the cesspool of depravity and ignorance. Maybe Fox should stick with Family Guy and the Simpsons.

Pretty much every RSO law is ineffective and counterproductive, but some laws are simply incomprehensible. These laws are the epitome of stupidity, and deserve a star on the walk of shame.

There are so many holes in the practice of this law, it could only be used for whale nets. Lets see, how about the mass confusion over how offenders would be reclassified, gives the NCMEC immunity from lawsuits for all their screwups, allows for the uncivil commitment of offenders on the basis of a "mental illness" (if mental illness is a risk actor, a lot of lawmakers would be suspect), calls for GPS "pilot programs" (the microchips are coming soon, BTW), and stiff mandatory minimums, among other nasties. I wonder why the Senate had to hold an "emergency meeting" to push this abomination through legislature? Why Johnny boy Walsh had to claim detractors here child molesters to strong-arm it through legislature (By the way, why is it named for someone who ISN'T a sex crime victim anyways?)? And why did Attorney General Gonzal-ASS have to exploit a loophole in AG office procedure to apply this law unconstituionally retroactive? Smells like shiitake to me! Blow-hio and Joke-lahoma have passed the Abominable Walsh Act in their states, sending thousands of low risk offenders like drunken mooners or teens having consentual sex with each other, into the "high risk" category. Not to mention the THOUSANDS of subsequent lawsuits, and more confusion over the application of this nonsensical law! I believe AWA will win hands down. However, I believe there are equally insane laws out there that needs the spotlight!

How about the KIDS Act of 2008?The Internet registration law, where Former Ofenders are supposed to register emails and screen names? Its a dumb and pointless law written by someone who CN'T TURN ON A COMPUTER! Can you say "computer illiterate?"

California's Proposition 83:Parolees aren't allowed to leave SF county but there is no place in SF county they are allowed to live.

Alabama's Community Notification Act:Makes it a felony for an RSO to be homeless - they must register an address or go back to jail.Can't communicate with family of victim. Many RSO's commit a felony by talking to themselves.Can't reside within 1000 yds of former victim. How can they obey this law without always knowing where the victim resides? Stalking is illegal.

Georgia's 42-1-15: So absurd that it's the only one that that is almost immediately overturned with each revision. RSO's can't die in a hospice if it's near a church.

The bracelets bulls***, John, you know that. It's BS." Walsh then suggested putting embedded GPS chips, to which the photographer said, "I'll say bury it deep inside them, is what I say. I don't care how big it is," which earned Walsh's scary reply, "I love your attitude."
